Simone Biles

Simone Biles was an American gymnast born March 14, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio. She is considered to be one of the most outstanding gymnasts. Being the only U.S. female gymnast, Biles was the sole gymnast who won four gold medals in a single Games during the 2016 Olympics. Biles is also the first to hold three world championships in succession. Biles along with the younger of her sisters Adria were conceived by Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles the grandparents of Spring Texas (in the Houston area), grew up there. Simone's interest in gymnastics began at age six after a visit with her day care group to Bannon Gymnastix. Simone remained in the hands of Aimee Borman's coaching until 2011. Biles was awarded a gold medal in floor exercise and a bronze in vault during the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010. She then stepped into the top level of competition in the year 2011. In just two short years, she was the most successful athlete in her discipline. Biles was notable by her consistent performance, her enthusiasm and level of challenge she made every event - vault bars that were uneven, balance beam and ground work.
