Kelly Clarkson was an American artist and songwriter who was the America's sweetheart when she took home American Idol in the first season. The win was more than a major success however, it also secured the singer a contract to record numerous albums through RCA Records 19 Recordings & S Records. Since then, she has released a number of studio albums. 3 of these made it to the US Billboard 200 chart, while others narrowly missed it. She's one of the biggest stars to come out of American Idol. The singer began to play around with themes and songs after her fame increased. Her work was praised by critics and numerous important awards for her creativity and vocal talent. The most notable accomplishment is the fact that she was awarded three Grammy Awards. Alongside her career in music, she has also appeared in movies as well as television programs. She also co-wrote the children's book River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and is involved with a number of charities.
